Hemp seed oil is the best cleanser and moisturiser for your skin. Please don’t be afraid of it being an oil, as hemp seed oil is not pore clogging. It has a comedogenic rating of 0 which means it is safe to use on acne prone skin and will not clog your pores. In fact, it will actually help to balance out your excess sebum production.
When linoleic acid is not available in the skin the sebaceous glands produce sebum with oleic acid, which is drier and firmer than healthy sebum. This dry and firm sebum can then easily become stuck and form blackheads and whiteheads (which is the beginning of acne). Hemp seed oil contains a perfect ratio of EFA’s and therefore providing our skin with the much needed linoleic acid if it is lacking. In fact, hemp seed oil contains 57% of linoleic acid which is a lot!
So if you have a lot of comedonal acne (whiteheads and blackheads), the best thing you can do for your skin is to use hemp seed oil and exfoliate 2-3 times per week.
To help with providing our body with the right amounts of linoleic acid in the skin, it is also advised to take good quality hemp seed oil internally as a supplement.
This is what Fran personally uses to cleanse and moisturise her skin!
